Blackburn Imagery is a collection of mostly photo-related content and lessons that I’ve been fortunate enough to experience over the years. I have been operating a camera for more years than I can remember and still struggle to achieve the perfect shot. On some days god smiles and bathes my scene in glorious light. Other days I simply wait.

As time goes on, film has given way to digital, but to me, photography is still an “in-camera” art. The perfect image doesn’t care if you shoot Nikon or Canon, film or digital, and scoffs at the mere notion of bracketing. No, a perfect image is all about perfect light. To this end, I study my scene, my subject, and my available light and adapt my techniques to tempt perfection. Photography is all about making the most of the cards you are dealt.

I shoot mainly art projects, but I have been talked into an occasional commercial shoot or event. Weddings are wonderful and exhausting and staged studio shoots allow for a more controlled creativity. In the end, it’s all about style, technique, and the perfect image. Weddings

Weddings are some of the most difficult and rewarding events you can photograph. Light, colors, emotion, and spontaneity just happen and the photographer must catch it all. I like to over-prepare for weddings and spend a lot of time on location This gives me enough time to catch all the little details and I’m there when the special moments unfold. The extra time also gives me the opportunity to catch the little details in perfect light; a wonderful benefit for outdoor weddings
